About Quaker House:

The Quaker House building was originally a village fish market which was moved in 1914 to its present place and added onto to become the residence of one of the caretakers of the Swift family properties surrounding the Meetinghouse.  In 1969 West Falmouth Friends embarked on a new outreach project with the purchase of the building set on 1.9 acres adjacent to the Meetinghouse burial ground.  The stated purpose was “for extension of the social and spiritual witness represented by the Swift family and among Friends.”  It was an exercise in faith that the house would perform a useful outreach function locally and throughout New England Yearly Meeting.

Improvements to the house include: handicap accessibility, recently refurbished bedrooms and baths, and an up-to-date kitchen which allows food preparation and serving for groups of up to 20 people.
